The Biomedical Science Society is delighted to be organising the first ever ARU BMSS Conference happening on the 15th December 2018. Aimed at STEM undergraduate and postgraduate students, the conference has been organised on the premise of being multidisciplinary and exposing students to "the real world of science". We are hoping that you will learn from our speakers (both internal and external) and that you will create professional networks which will help you in future.

Call for Papers

Posters present an opportunity to publish late-breaking results, smaller research contributions, work-in-progress and student projects in a concise and visible format. Students who are not working on any project (for example, summer studentships or major projects) are welcome to submit a poster about any general scientific topic of their interest. Accepted posters will be displayed throughout the day in the Science Centre at ARU Cambridge, including during a relaxed lunch and networking session, providing presenters with an opportunity to engage in discussion with other attendees about their interests.

We are currently inviting undergraduate and postgraduate STEM students to submit their poster titles as per the schedule below:

  • Online Submission Due: 11 November 2018
  • Acceptance Notification: 13 November 2018
  • Confirmation of Attendance: 13-25 November 2018 (by the 16thNovember for non-ARU students)

Submissions should all be submitted via this quick survey. Accepted authors will be required to present a printed poster. The dimensions of posters for our conference are standard A2 (420 x 594 mm) and portrait orientation. The poster should have a banner that spans its full width and includes title, authors and affiliations. Institutional crests are to be included in the banner. You may bring the poster printed as a single sheet or as the appropriate number of A4 sheets corresponding to the same overall size. The BMSS will be paying for printing of the first 10 submitted (and accepted) posters!
