About 2019 ICCSCE

The 3rd run of the Conference will focus on how culture contributes to national development. This Conference seeks to give an opportunity for local researchers to showcase how their researches contributed to policy-making and planning relative to their subjects, thus this call is strictly for Filipino citizens only. International speakers will also be invited by NCCA to deliver pre-determined topics.

Call for Papers

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts is inviting Filipino researchers to submit abstracts related to a wide range of topics in the culture and arts sector for the 2019 International Conference on Cultural Statistics and Creative Economy. The 3rd run of the Conference will focus on how culture contributes to national development. This Conference seeks to give opportunity for local researchers to showcase how their researches contributed to policy making and planning relative to their subjects, thus this call is strictly for Filipino citizens only. International speakers will also be invited by NCCA to deliver pre-determined topics.

Contents of the abstract

The abstract must not be less than 300 words and must contain the following:

  • Problem being addressed and the purpose of the paper
  • Statistical methods use
  • Statistics derived/ main findings
  • Principal conclusions and policy implications

The researches to be submitted must highlight how the results have been utilized in a project implementation or policy development. Abstracts must not contain references, tables or figures. It should be concise and use good English. The topic of the paper must be one of the following:

Intellectual property rights on cultural and creative products

Developing cultural indices

Intangible cultural heritage

Cultural education and training

For breakout sessions, any topic related to statistics and development on:

Guidelines for submission

Abstract must be submitted in word document format and should come with the curriculum vitae (CV) of the author/s in PDF format.

Submissions should be sent to ncca.iccsce@gmail.com with the subject SUBMISSION TO 2019 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURAL STATISTICS AND CREATIVE ECONOMY. Only one abstract is allowed per author.

All abstracts must be based on original work that has no prior ownership or copyright restrictions and have not been presented in any conference, forum, or submitted in journals or published in any publication and the like.

Author/s will be notified if their abstract has been selected for the conference.  The author/s shall submit the paper to the Conference Secretariat on or before the scheduled date. Papers for publication may be subject to revision based on the comments of the Conference organizers, panel or resource persons.

The papers that will be chosen for the Conference shall be included in the NCCA publication.

It is assumed that the presenting author who will present in the Conference has a good command in English to be able to present well and respond accurately to the questions.

Timeline:

Mar to May 15 – call for abstracts

June 5 – notification of accepted abstracts

June 6 to July 30 – submission of papers

August 1 to August 30 – editing of papers

August 30 to September -  printing of Conference papers

October 9 and 10- Conference
