The East African Women in Transportation Conference seeks to bridge the gap between research and policy initiatives pertaining to urban planning, public safety and gender-based violence and the real-world challenges facing women currently working in the transportation sector. Transportation jobs can provide stable incomes, opportunities for growth and economic freedom as well as safer public spaces for all commuters. The East Africa WIT Conference, will provide a forum for the exploration of technical, policy, financial, global best-practices and political aspects of emerging transportation issues while recognizing and celebrating women working in transportation.
We invite you to submit an abstract, case study, powerpoint or panel discussion for consideration to be presented at the WIT conference. Abstracts should focus on global research, best practices, policy and local initiatives pertaining to the conference objectives and themes. Please review the conference Objectives & Themes for appropriate submissions. Papers should provide technical insight, share unique challenges and experiences, and discuss technical solutions. If you have worked on a successful project, have an opinion you’d like to share with the industry, or a theory you would like to discuss, we would like to hear from you.
