Dear Sir/Madam,
It is a great honour to us to invite representatives of various scientific centres, workers of Health Service, Sanitary and Epidemiological Stations, and Disinfection, Disinsection and Deratisation teams, companies, and all participants interested in arthropods to take part in the 20 Jubilee International Symposium "Parasitic, allergenic, and venomous arthropods - medical and sanitary importance”. The symposium will be held from 5 to 7 June 2018 in Janowiec nad Wisłą in Oblasówka Pension (www.oblasowka.pl).
Our previous meetings were highly popular and their participants contributed to their great atmosphere. A measurable success was the establishment of scientific cooperation between the centres and accomplishment of many collaborative studies at a high scientific level, which have been recognised by international public and published in renowned journals. We wish to keep up the tradition of lively discussions and exchange of experience between the participants of our symposia.
During this year's symposium, we would like to summarise the previous meetings in terms of their scientific value and highlight new perspectives in many aspects of research on arthropods and their effects on other organisms. Our most important goal is to enable participants to present their results and achievements, as symposia are the best forum for fast information exchange.
We strongly encourage the participants to submit presentations, posters, and papers on the morphology, biology, ecology, and medical importance of arthropods as well as methods for control of parasitic and allergenic insects and arachnids. We hope that medical doctors and diagnosticians will share their practical knowledge in the field of diagnosis and treatment of tick-borne diseases and allergies, and the sanitary service personnel will present the possibilities of limiting the occurrence range and abundance of arthropods with medical, epidemiological, and sanitary importance. As in previous years, the debates will be held in the lecture and poster sessions.
As previously, we will issue the monograph with the papers submitted by the participants. As specified in many sources, the papers published in the previous symposium monographs arouse great interest among researchers, doctoral candidates, and students. We wish to thank you for submitting interesting research results achieved in various academic centres. They are a proof of the research of parasitic arthropods and the medical and veterinary effects of their parasitism.
Our monograph will be available on line.
We kindly inform you that we are in the process of registering the Polish Society for Tick Research. During the symposium, there will be an opportunity to join this undertaking. The idea of establishing this society evolved during the last year's symposium and it has already proved very popular among researchers of these mites.
We invite you to maintain the tradition of our scientific meetings through participation in the 20th symposium in 2018
Please submit ABSTRACTS OF LECTURES AND POSTERS and FULL PAPERS to: sympozjum.stawonogi@gmail.com
With kind regards
On behalf of the Organising Committee
