About Life Sciences 2019

Post-translational modifications (PTMs) of proteins play an important role in cellular function. Life Sciences 2019 will bring together researchers from across disciplines to discuss significant challenges and gain new perspectives on the role of PTMs in physiological function and disease processes. The programme includes keynote lectures by award-winning researchers, and symposia from experts on topics including PTMs in cardiac structure and function, regulation of neuronal synapses and stress responses, protein methylation and transglutaminase-mediated PTMs in health and disease, carbon monoxide modulation of ionic homeostasis, redox signalling, and non-enzymatic PTMs. Co-organised by The Physiological Society, Biochemical Society and British Pharmacological Society.

Topics

Disease, Proteins, Health, Ptms, Cardiac, Redox, Cell signaling, Cell signalling

Call for Papers

Each symposium will include two senior speakers and one ECR with two spaces for oral communications elevated from abstracts. Confirmed symposia at the event include:

  • Protein methylation in health and disease
  • Post-translational modifications of proteins related to stress-response
  • Post-translational modifications in the regulation of neuronal synapses
  • Carbon monoxide modulation of ionic homeostasis
  • Transglutaminase mediated post-translational modifications in human disease
  • Features and regulation of non-enzymatic PTM
  • Post-translational modification and implications for cardiac structure and function
  • Redox signalling and protein phosphorylation

We are now seeking abstracts that complement or extend these areas, or topics of general interest that fit the meeting remit.
