The Center for Prevention of Abuse is proud to host Light 2020: A Multistate Educational Conference on Human Trafficking on April 1-2, 2020 at the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino in East Peoria, Illinois. Light 2020 aims to bring together experts, service providers, educators, and stakeholders in Illinois and surrounding states to shine a light on human trafficking in the United States and share best practices, innovative campaigns and technology, preventative efforts and measures, and survivor care and strategies to help prevent, combat, and respond to the human trafficking crisis.
Light 2020 is now accepting registration, as well as vendor applications. Keynote speakers have been selected and will feature Brad Myles, CEO of Polaris, Jean Bruggeman, Executive Director of Freedom Network, USA, Dr. Hanni Stoklosa of HEAL Trafficking, and Lockey Maisonneuve who is an author, survivor, and advocate. Breakout session leaders and workshops, as well as panel discussion topics, will be selected by the end of October 2019 and focus on a variety of disciplines: law enforcement, victim services, criminal justice, social work, prevention education, survivor care strategies, medical providers, and more. Light 2020 is the first of its kind in Central Illinois. Participants can apply for CEUs.
