Patients as Partners EU is the first European event to help incorporate the voice of the patient throughout medicines development. This 4th annual program’s core theme emphasizes bringing value back to patients.
The program is co-produced with industry, patient advocacy and public sector voices to implement and advance patient involvement across the entire clinical development continuum. Each session puts ideas into action and demonstrates the what, where, when and how behind the topic.
The 2020 program features an outstanding line-up of new sessions, led by both patients and industry, and includes a series of formats with multi-stakeholder perspectives.
In a world where only 10% of medicines make it to launch, incorporating a patient-centric study design has been proven beneficial for industry. In fact, an Economist Intelligence Unit study reported that medicines developed with patient preferences and input early on, showed a 10-20% increase in likelihood of launch compared to medicines without this approach. Conversely, not involving patients early in medicines development increases the risk of a failed trial.
