About CoPIVM

Welcome to the 2nd CoP International Veins Meeting where you can see 3 days of live cases - pelvic vein embolisation, endovenous surgery, duplex scanning of pelvic veins and leg veins, foam sclerotherapy and a variety of other procedures. In other sessions you can join in the scientific discussions related to all aspects of venous diagnosis and interventions or join in with our leg ulcer stream to find out the very latest investigations and treatments for venous leg ulcers. The 2nd College of Phlebology International Veins Meeting promises to be even more educational and fun than the first.

Call for Papers

The conference will be hosted by The College of Phlebology, in conjunction with the Leg Ulcer Charity, Lindsay Leg Club Foundation and the Venous Times Newspaper.

The aim of the meeting is to bring excellence in Phlebology at the forefront of clinical practice. It emphasises on the importance of conducting first hand research that aims at increasing scientific knowledge which when applied has the objective to improving patient care.

There will be a Prize Awards Dinner held on Thursday 15th March for the best oral and e-Poster presentations. More information on the Awards Dinner will be published in due course.

Abstract Rules and Guidelines

Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract:

1. Abstracts are limited to 1 A4 page using 12 point Arial font with single spacing.

2. Authors and affiliations should be stated at the beginning of the abstract, with the presenting author underlined.

3. Authors should indicate which of the themes above relate to the focus of their abstract. The abstract document should be saved as a pdf document and the filename format should be your name followed by the theme selected. (e.g.: Joe Bloggs – Thermal Ablation.pdf)

4. Author details and affiliation must be stated on the abstract registration form and submission form found at the end of this page.

5. The abstract registration form must be submitted via email as an attachment to abstract@collegeofphlebology.com.

6. Abstracts must be structured as shown in the Abstract Template. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to be considered for the ‘Medical Trainee Symposium’ Session. This session is solely for students registered on higher degrees (e.g. MSc, PhD, MD) or junior medical trainees. Evidence of registration on such a programme or junior status must be submitted via email at the time of submission.

Review Process

Abstracts will be evaluated and the presenting authors will be notified of acceptance or non-acceptance. The decisions of the CoPIVM Chairs are final. Abstracts will be evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Suitability
  • Theoretical background
  • Methodology
  • Discussion
  • Contribution
