'Unravelling Human Origins' is part of a series of student-run conferences that began in Southampton in 2010. The aim of this multidisciplinary conference is to provide a forum for the discussion of new and innovative advances in Palaeolithic and human evolution research.
Unravelling Human Origins is a multidisciplinary, student-run conference aimed at discussing new advances in human evolution research.
We invite submissions on the following themes (though welcome any topics related to human origins or the Palaeolithic):
Origins of art, symbolism and cognitive evolution
Demography, life history and social evolution
Anatomy, energetics and morphology
Technology and innovation
Diet, mobility and subsistence
Diversity in the Palaeolithic (e.g. age and gender, cognitive and psychological diversity, (dis)ability, inclusivity within human origins research)
Novel methodological and theoretical approaches (e.g. experimental archaeology, analogy, bioarchaeological approaches)
Abstracts are welcome for:
Oral presentations (15 minutes followed by Q&A slot)
Posters
Postgraduate students are particularly encouraged, with best poster and presentation awards available.
