In partnership with the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad and the Indian School of Business, World Design Organization (WDO)® is pleased to present the 2019 WDO Research and Education Forum on 10 October 2019, in conjunction with its 31st World Design Assembly on 11-12 October 2019 in Hyderabad (India). Under the banner of ‘Humanizing Design’ this one-day Forum aims to share perspectives and explore trends that better prepare young design professionals for new challenges and opportunities.

The Research & Education in Design Conference pays particular attention to the connection between research and education and how it can benefit society. This is the motto for the conference: Connecting research and education in design for the benefit of human wellbeing.

Tirana Design Week (TDW) this year, in 2019, approaches Tirana’s 100th anniversary as the capital of Albania. Comparing photos of a bucolic Tirana in 1920 with what one sees from Polis University’s fourth floor today, inevitably raises doubts about the endurance of design, while conspicuously evincing the fluctuating tendency of what constitutes a norm in a world continuously oscillating between what is desired or imagined as an endogenous equilibrium and exogenous menaces.
