This one-day conference is designed to give postgraduate students from different research areas an opportunity to present and discuss their research and form new connections with their colleagues across different disciplines. We invite postgraduate students to submit their abstracts for oral and poster presentations. If you would like to present your paper on the conference, please follow the guidelines.

The International Association for Political Science Students welcomes you to the Academic Convention 2018 in Singapore. The theme of the convention will be “Rethinking Development: Innovative Policies for Social and Economic Advancement.” This year, we are partnering with the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), an inter-governmental organisation that aims to strengthen relations between Asia and Europe. An annual event, the Convention is one of the largest international conferences for students of political science, international relations, and related disciplines.

Aim is to trace some of the lesser-known historical linkages between India and Japan to support the foundation on which mutual relations are built and flourish in changing geo-political and economic environment. Scholars presentation will unearth such linkages to provide hitherto not well appreciated richness of historical foundations of intellectual and creative exchanges between India and Japan. Following themes of linkages will be covered • India and Japonisme (Carpets, Textiles, Arts) • Diaspora Communities • Social interactions, Place & Community knowledge • Education, Travelogues and related areas • Technology Perspectives (Shipping, Railways, Seismology, Architecture)
