The Hockey Conference is a biennial event held at various locations throughout North America. It has instrumentally advanced scholarship on ice hockey, and brings together hockey scholars and community members who are interested in, participating in, and working in the sport. Hockey scholars can come from various fields; their perspective for studying the sport can be grounded in things like globalization, marketing, history, gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, literature, or anatomy and physiology. Potential speakers for 2018 (funding pending) include: Karl Subban, Jen Botterill, Harnarayan Singh, and Gerry Ranking.
