This virtual and in-person conference explores cities are sites of physical life, digital technology, computation and data. It argues that cities are places designed and built through data based architecture, planning and construction, and that this informs design, construction and the creative imagination of filmmakers and artists who are both inspired and concerned by it. Concerns include the use of data our cities generate for third parties; the ‘digital dependency’ of future generations; unemployment that could result from digital building construction, to name a few.
The conference welcomes cross-disciplinary perspectives on all these issues.
